Register as an individual or group by 5 p.m. Friday, May 11, at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kentwa.gov\/residents\/teamup2cleanup\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"link\">KentWA.gov\/TalkingTrash<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Volunteers can pick up free gloves and trash bags and get directions to &ldquo;hot spots&rdquo; &#8211; the areas that need the most attention &#8211; by meeting at 9 a.m. at one of two locations:<\/p>\n<p>&#8226; Kherson Park, 307 W. Gowe St. (Downtown)<\/p>\n<p>&#8226; Golden Steer Steak &#038; Rib House, 23826 104th Ave. SE (East Hill)<\/p>\n<p>Trash bags can also be dropped off in donated dumpsters from Republic Services at the same locations and same day until noon.<\/p>\n<p>The city of Kent, along with the Kent Downtown Partnership, Kent Station, Republic Services, The Golden Steer Steak &lsquo;n Rib House and The Doorman Service Co. Inc., are sponsors of the cleanup.<\/p>\n<p>Residents, neighborhood and faith-based organizations, civic groups, students looking for school required community service hours, youth organizations, businesses and families are encouraged to get involved.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We hope to get a great turnout at this year&rsquo;s litter clean up,&rdquo; said Kent Mayor Dana Ralph in a news release. &ldquo;Historically, several community organizations have held individual events. By working together, we can make a visible difference across the entire city.
