Cameron Hale threw a complete-game, three-hit shutout as Kentridge defused Kentwood 6-0 at Hogan Park at Russell Road on Friday to split their two-game North Puget Sound League Cascade Division baseball series.

Kentwood took the first meeting, 4-1, last Wednesday, April 18.

Hale, a senior, struck out five and walked two in an efficient 86-pitch performance as the Chargers (10-2, 13-4) stayed alive in the hunt for the division title. Kentridge takes on division-leading Tahoma (12-0, 14-2) for two games this week that will settle regular-season matters – at Maple Valley on Tuesday (6:30 p.m. first pitch) and back at Hogan Park for a 4 p.m. game Thursday.

On Friday, James Billotti tripled and drove in three runs and Preston Viltz drove in two more for Kentridge. Nolan Sparks went 3 for 4 and scored a run.

Cole Trotignon allowed seven hits and four runs over 5⅔ innings, striking out six and walking one.

In Kentwood’s win earlier in the week, Matt Franeshina, Davis Zerr and Ty Cowan each drove in a run for the Conquerors (7-5, 9-8). Franeshina doubled, and Dyson Johnson went 2 for 3 with a double and scored a run.

Franeshina went the distance, tossing a two-hit gem, striking out five and walking one.
