For the Reporter<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n The Seattle Impact FC has signed its first midfielder, Micah Wenzel.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The Impact are the newest members of the 23-team Major Arena Soccer League (MASL), the indoor game’s top-tier division throughout North America<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Born in Federal Way, Wenzel is a former Bellarmine Prep High School and University of Puget Sound star.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Wenzel played for indoor soccer teams in Tacoma from 2007 to 2013.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n During his three-year stint with Tacoma’s semi-pro team, Wenzel helped the Stars capture the 2010 national championship, notably scoring five goals in the five-game tournament along with posting a goal and an assist in the final game.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n With the Tacoma Stars pro team from 2010 to 2012, Wenzel scored double-digit goals each season. In 2013, Wenzel was a member of the Tacoma Galaxy, where he served as team captain.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Wenzel is excited and determined to begin a new chapter in his career.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n “This is an opportunity that many players in this area would relish and so I am going to do everything possible to make the most of this chance,” Wenzel said. “There is a lot of quality in this area as far as indoor soccer players go so I can’t wait to get everyone together and get on the same page as the season approaches.”<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
