Burke Gallimore had two goals and Connor Sanvido had three assists Saturday afternoon to lead the Seattle Thunderbirds<\/a> to a 5-3 victory over the Everett Silvertips in a preseason game at the Toyota Center in the Red Lion Hotels Preseason Tournament in Kennewick.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The T-Birds were 1-1-0-0 in their two games at the tournament. The Spokane Chiefs beat the T-Birds 1-0 on Friday night in their first game at the Red Lion Tournament.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The T-Birds took a 1-0 lead at 1:49 of the first period on a power-play goal by Burk Gallimore. Defenseman Kyle Verdino and Connor Sanvido had the assists on the goal.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Everett tied the game 1-1 with a power-play goal by Ryan Murray at the six-minute mark of the first period. Zach McPhee and Jordyn Boyd were credited with the assists.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Seattle went in front 2-1eight minutes into the first on a goal from Marcel Noebels. Defenseman Taylor Green had the only assist on Noebels third goal of the preseason.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The Silvertips tied the game with less than three minutes in the first when Kohl Bauml scored. Murray and Boyd had the assists on the goal at 17:36 of the first. .<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Everett outshot Seattle 13-9 in the first period.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The T-Birds took a quick 3-2 lead two minutes into the second period on a power-play goal from Gallimore. Sanvido and Noebels had the assists on Gallimore’s third goal of the preseason.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Everett tied the game 3-3 on Murray’s second goal of the game which came at 14:49 of the second. Jari Erricson and Ryan Chynoweth had the assists.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Justin Hickman put the T-Birds back in front at 15:19 of the second. He was assisted by defenseman Shea Theodore and Sanvido.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The Silvertips led 22-15 in total shots after two periods by outshooting the T-Birds 9-6 in the second period.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The T-Birds had the only goal of the third period. Verdino scored a power-play goal at 14:42 on assists from Noebels and Theodore.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Everett outshot Seattle 5-4 in the third period and 27-19 in the game.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Daniel Cotton started in net for the T-Birds and made 16 saves on 18 shots in just over 30 minutes of action. Michael Salmon replaced Cotton and stopped eight of nine shots in his half of play.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Andy Desautels was in net for Everett to start the game and he made 10 saves on 13 shots. Austin Lotz replaced Desautels halfway through the second period. Lotz stopped four of six shots he faced.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The T-Birds travel to Portland to take on the Winterhawks on Friday, September 16, at 5:30 p.m. at the Winterhawks Skating Center.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The preseason schedule ends on Saturday, September 17, when the T-Birds host the Silvertips at 7:05 p.m. at ShoWare Center. Single game tickets for the home preseason game will go on sale August 25.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The T-Birds will open the 2011-12 regular season against the Portland Winterhawks at ShoWare Center on Saturday, September 24 at 7:05 p.m.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

T-Birds single game tickets for the 2011-12 season are available online at the T-Birds website<\/a> and at the ShoWare Center box office. The ShoWare Center Box Office is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday game days at 10 a.m. and Sunday game days at noon.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
