A brand-new Chick-fil-A is opening next week in Covington.

People can begin to line up at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, April 11, at the new location, 17440 SE 272nd St. The first 100 adults in line will receive a free year supply of Chick-fil-A meals, according to a company media release.

If there are more than 100 people in line at that time, a raffle will be held to determine the 100 who will stay on site for the next 24 hours. Prizes will be awarded around 6:15 a.m. on Thursday, April 12, during the grand opening.

The Covington restaurant becomes the ninth location in Washington. Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A, Inc. is a family owned and privately held restaurant company founded in 1967 by S. Truett Cathy. Chick-fil-A serves freshly prepared food in more than 2,298 restaurants in 47 states.

The company will employ about 100 people at its Covington location, where a Burger King used to stand. Chick-fil-A plans to open a Lakewood site in May.
