Major Arena Soccer League general managers and head coaches selected Stars midfielder Philip Lund to the All-Rookie Team on Tuesday.

Every MASL team was allotted one vote to be taken by either the team’s GM or coach.

Lund was one of only four Tacoma Stars to appear in every game this season, 22 in the regular season and all three playoff games. He turned in the fourth-highest point total during the regular season, scoring 17 goals to go with three assists which was good for 20 points. Lund topped that by tying for the team lead in postseason scoring by notching a pair of goals and an assist against San Diego in the opening round of Ron Newman Cup Playoffs.

“Philip came in this year with high expectations and worked hard to learn the game,” said Darren Sawatzky, Stars coach and general manager. “He scored a bunch of goals and grew with the season. He was a welcome addition.”
