{"id":33412,"date":"2018-03-05T15:57:00","date_gmt":"2018-03-05T23:57:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/kent-mayor-ralph-plans-community-meetings-about-city-budget\/"},"modified":"2018-03-05T15:57:00","modified_gmt":"2018-03-05T23:57:00","slug":"kent-mayor-ralph-plans-community-meetings-about-city-budget","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/kent-mayor-ralph-plans-community-meetings-about-city-budget\/","title":{"rendered":"Kent Mayor Ralph plans community meetings about city budget"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kent Mayor Dana Ralph will host three community meetings in the next few months to inform residents of the upcoming city budget challenges and to get feedback on spending priorities. <\/p>\n<p>The meetings &#8211; as Ralph prepares her 2019-2020 budget cycle &#8211; are:<\/p>\n<p>&#8226; Tuesday, March 27, 7 p.m., Trinity Church, 3807 Reith Road<\/p>\n<p>&#8226; Saturday, April 21, 10 a.m., Sunrise Elementary, 22300 132nd Ave. SE<\/p>\n<p>&#8226; Thursday, May 3, 7 p.m., Kent Senior Center, 600 E. Smith St.<\/p>\n<p>Ralph will speak briefly at each meeting, followed by a budget presentation by Finance Director Aaron BeMiller and a question-and-answer session. In addition, the city will set up an online form where residents can provide input and ask questions about the budget process.<\/p>\n<p>By law, the mayor must propose a balanced budget to the City Council this fall.
