Kent Police arrested a 33-year-old Kent man for a reported assault and attempted rape at the Hottie Shots Espresso stand.<\/p>\n

Police arrested the man Wednesday morning at his workplace in the 6800 block of South 190th Street, according to a Kent Police news release. He was taken into custody without incident.<\/p>\n

Police received multiple tips identifying the suspect after the release of a video from the espresso stand as well as a description of the man. Officers responded at about 4:45 a.m. Tuesday to Hottie Shots Espresso stand, 21237 84th Ave. S.,<\/a> after a report of an assault and attempted rape.<\/p>\n

The barista worker, a 30-year-old Bonney Lake resident, reported that the assailant came to the coffee stand window on foot and ordered a drink, according to a Kent Police news release. She said while she was distracted making his drink, he climbed in through the window and held her at knifepoint.<\/p>\n

The man proceeded to force her out of the stand and to a dark alleyway on the property just to the northwest of the barista stand. During his attempt to sexually assault her, he was spooked by the vehicle headlights of a customer that pulled into the drive-through stand. Subsequently, the assailant fled from the area possibly within a dark sedan with black rims that was seen in the area just prior to the incident.<\/p>\n

The barista worker was treated by medics for abrasions on her body which were sustained during the incident. She was said to be shook up, but otherwise in good condition.<\/p>\n

The suspect has an extensive criminal history, according to police. As of Wednesday, investigators had not released his name as he has not yet been formally charged.<\/p>\n
