Behind the all-around performances of Lexi and Lizzy McKnight, Kentridge qualified as a team for state following a solid performance in the 4A West Central District gymnastics finals at Auburn Mountainview High School on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Lexi McKnight delivered an all-around score of 36.6, fourth best among all competitors, and her sister Lizzy was sixth (35.175) as the Chargers racked up a score of 157.9 to finish fourth in the team chase.<\/p>\n

Emerald Ridge (162.600) won the district title followed by Kentlake (162.350) and Auburn Mountainview (161.7).<\/p>\n

The top four teams, 19 individual performers and seven all-around gymnasts earned tickets to this Friday and Saturday’s state meet at the Tacoma Dome Exhibition Hall.<\/p>\n

Auburn’s Ali Tate captured the all-around title with a score of 37.375 on the strength of a dazzling and winning 9.375 on the uneven bars, a second on the vault (9.625), a fourth in the floor exercise (9.4) and a fifth on the balance beam (8.975).<\/p>\n

Lexi McKnight won the beam (9.425), took second on the floor (9.5), finished fourth on the bars (8.725) and was seventh on the vault (8.95),<\/p>\n

Lizzy McKnight posted fifths on the vault (9.075) and floor (9.375) and a seventh on the bars (8.175).<\/p>\n

For Kentlake, Cecelia Loudermilk had the seventh-best all-around score (35.025) with the help of a 9.075 on the floor and an 8.75 on the bar (third), and Cassie Padilla was ninth (34.075) boosted by a 9.15 on the floor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
