The Seattle Thunderbirds have acquired left wing Jaxan Kaluski from the Moose Jaw Warriors in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2019 Bantam Draft.<\/p>\n
“Kaluski is an honest, hard-working energy guy that’s going to give us some depth at forward,” said T-Birds director of player personnel Cal Filson.<\/p>\n
Kaluski, a rookie from Lloydminster, Alberta, has two goals and one assist in 22 games with the Warriors this season.<\/p>\n
Other deals<\/strong><\/p>\n The T-Birds acquired defenseman Owen Williams and a second-round pick in the 2019 Bantam Draft from the Regina Pats in exchange for defenseman Aaron Hyman.<\/p>\n “Owen is a good young defenseman and will fit in with our group going forward,” said general manager Russ Farwell. “This trade brings us a very good return and gives Regina defensive experience they are looking for going into the Memorial Cup.”<\/p>\n Williams, a rookie from Delta, British Columbia, has appeared in 28 games with the Pats this season and has one assist. Williams is a left-shot defenseman who is a 2000 birth year.<\/p>\n Hyman has one goal and six assists in 26 games this season. Hyman played in all 20 playoff games last season and had seven points on a goal and six assists.<\/p>\n Earlier in the week, the T-Birds traded center Elijah Brown to the Medicine Hat Tigers for a second-round pick in the 2018 Bantam Draft and a conditional third-round pick in the 2019 Bantam Draft.<\/p>\n This season Brown had one goal and four assists in 13 games. He played 64 games in the 2016-17 season and had four goals and nine assists for 13 points.<\/p>\n Brown was the T-Birds’ first-round pick, 15th overall, in the 2015 Bantam Draft.<\/p>\n On the ice<\/strong><\/p>\n The T-Birds play the Kelowna Rockets at 7:35 p.m. Friday at the accesso ShoWare Center. They travel to Portland to play the Winterhawks at 6 p.m. Saturday at Veterans Memorial Stadium. The game will be game broadcast on JOEtv Channel 22\/Cable 110.<\/p>\n
