For the Reporter<\/strong><\/p>\n Kent-based DAWN (Domestic Abuse Women’s Network) offers its annual Adopt-A-Family program to help survivors of domestic violence in King County.<\/p>\n DAWN has more than 540 people registered to receive gifts, the nonprofit agency said.<\/p>\n “We are grateful for the donors who are helping make the holidays bright for those in need,” the agency added.<\/p>\n The public is invited to drop off gifts at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, at the DAWN building, 221 W. Gowe St. Trucks full of gifts will be unloaded into the building at that time.<\/p>\n DAWN focuses its resources and expertise on empowering families and communities to be free from violence.In addition to operating an emergency shelter, DAWN helps about 5,000 people each year in other programs.<\/p>\n
