Residents in the home smelled smoke, then saw flames and so quickly went outside and called the fire department, according to a Puget Sound Fire press release. Fire department units knocked down the flames coming out the windows and then went inside to put the fire out.<\/p>\n<p>A Puget Sound Fire investigator determined the cause as accidental due to a cardboard box being next to a wall heater.<\/p>\n<p>American Red Cross responded to aid the family as all their belongings were lost in the smoke and flames. South King County Medic One and Zone Three Rehab assisted at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>Puget Sound Fire officials want to remind residents to keep all things that can burn at least 36 inches from any wall or space heater.
