{"id":3144,"date":"2008-06-19T16:38:03","date_gmt":"2008-06-19T23:38:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spiken.wpengine.com\/news\/kent-church-celebrates-major-expansion-with-open-house\/"},"modified":"2016-10-22T23:00:40","modified_gmt":"2016-10-23T06:00:40","slug":"kent-church-celebrates-major-expansion-with-open-house","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/kent-church-celebrates-major-expansion-with-open-house\/","title":{"rendered":"Kent church celebrates major expansion with open house"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kent Covenant has expanded its facilities, and it&#8217;s opening them to the community Sunday with a party and free food.<\/p>\n<p>The theme is &#8220;Join the Fun at Kent Covenant Church,&#8221; and the event starts 1 p.m., culminating in a dedication worship service at 4 p.m. The church is located at Southeast 240th and 120 Avenue Southeast.<\/p>\n<p>The event includes free hotdogs on the patio, live music and free lattes at the church espresso bar.<\/p>\n<p>The celebrating highlights the church&#8217;s recent $4.2 million renovation and expansion.<\/p>\n<p>The new facilities include an expanded foyer, espresso bar and fireside room, preschool and nursery classrooms, and a new office wing.<\/p>\n<p>Sunday&#8217;s events will be welcoming for children, with activity centers in the preschool rooms and 4-Square and other activities for teens.
