For the Reporter<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n The Seattle Thunderbirds will offer 11 promotional giveaway nights, eight 2-for-Tuesday Nights and three Pub Nights for the 2016-17 Western Hockey League season.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The T-Birds’ home opener is 7:05 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, against the Portland Winterhawks at the ShoWare Center. The T-Birds will raise U.S. Division and Western Conference championship banners in a special pregame ceremony. The opener will also feature a Party on the Plaza starting at 5 p.m. T-Bird magnetic regular-season schedules will be given out to fans courtesy of Pat’s Plumbing.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n On 2-for-Tuesday nights fans can buy two tickets for the price of one. The concession stands will offer $2 hot dogs, $2 popcorn, $2 soft drinks and two-for-one beer prices.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The Thunderbird Community Sports Foundation will guarantee a minimum amount for the 50\/50 raffle prize at three games \u2013 Nov. 26 against Victoria (minimum guarantee of $3,000); Jan. 6 against Everett ($5,000) and Feb. 11 against Portland ($10,000).<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The T-Birds have teamed up with Les Schwab and the Forgotten Children’s Fund to collect new, unwrapped toys at the Dec. 13, 16 and 17 games.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n On Pub Nights \u2013 Dec. 2, Feb. 3 and March 3 \u2013 fans can purchase 10 tickets, 10 beers and 10 hats for $220. Tickets must be purchased before game day.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Mite Fest will be on Sunday, Jan. 29. Children ages 8 to 9 will be able to come down early, tour the locker room and play games on the ice. Beginner Fest is Sunday, Feb. 26, against Everett. Beginning hockey players, from 5 to 8-years old, will be able to arrive early for a tour of the locker room and play games on the ice.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Hockey Challenge 2016, benefiting Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western Washington and Alaska, is Saturday, Feb. 18, when the T-Birds face off against Portland at 6:05 p.m.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The Fred Meyer Turkey Shoot (Nov. 11) and Ham Shoot (Dec. 3) return. Ladies in attendance, 18 and older, will have the chance to participate in a puck shoot contest after the game to win a turkey or ham.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The Fred Meyer Teddy Bear Toss presented by WARM 106.9 is Jan. 21 against Vancouver. All teddy bears and other stuffed animals thrown on the ice after the T-Birds’ first goal of the game will be collected and distributed by the WARM 106.9 Teddy Bear Patrol.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The T-Birds will have two Youth Group Nights \u2013 Oct. 22 and Feb. 26. The first 1,000 fans to purchase tickets will receive a T-Birds hat. There will be $1 ice cream at the concession stands.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Single-game tickets are on sale.
