Kent Police arrested a 29-year-old man Wednesday night in connection with the shooting death of two men early in the morning in the Shell service station parking lot at South 212th Street and 64th Avenue South.

The man has a bail hearing at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, according to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Police have not yet released his name.

The two victims were a clerk and manager at the Shell station and store, according to witnesses. The names and ages of the store employees have not yet been released.

Kent Police and the Valley SWAT team served a search warrant Wednesday night at a Burien-area residence, according to a police media release.

A dispute outside the store between the clerk and two men in a black Cadillac led to the shooting at about 8:40 a.m. Multiple gunshots were fired, as many as eight to 10, according to one witness.

“This was a tragic incident to all those involved,” said Kent Police Cmdr. Jarod Kasner in a media release. “There were numerous reports and witness accounts, and our detectives worked professionally and judiciously to make sure that the information they had was correct and substantiated before any conclusions were drawn. This painstaking attention to detail was done to minimize misinformation and false conclusions, which is in the best interest of the victims, their families and the prosecution of the case.”

Police continue to investigate the case on Thursday.
