{"id":30950,"date":"2017-10-17T15:58:00","date_gmt":"2017-10-17T22:58:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/showare-center-to-participate-in-great-shakeout-drill\/"},"modified":"2017-10-18T16:07:48","modified_gmt":"2017-10-18T23:07:48","slug":"showare-center-to-participate-in-great-shakeout-drill","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/showare-center-to-participate-in-great-shakeout-drill\/","title":{"rendered":"ShoWare Center to participate in Great Shakeout Drill"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Kent city-owned and SMG-managed accesso ShoWare Center, along with other city agencies, will participate in the nationwide Great Shakeout Drill (drop, cover &#038; hold), the annual public earthquake drill at 10:19 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 19.<\/p>\n<p>This is an opportunity for the facility staff, including the Seattle Thunderbirds, to drill earthquake preparedness. In addition to drilling &ldquo;what to do&rdquo; and evacuating, the facility will test radio communication with the Kent Emergency Coordination Center.<\/p>\n<p>The building has been provided with a suitable radio for emergency communications that will communicate directly with the Kent Emergency Coordination Center and other city departments.
