KentHOPE’s fifth annual fundraising dinner is Saturday, Nov. 4, from 6 to 8:30 p.m., at the Renton Pavilion Event Center, 233 Burnett Ave. S.

KentHOPE Women and Children’s Day Center has transitioned more than 410 women and children out of homelessness in less than four years, according to the nonprofit organization.

The gala event will include stories of people who transformed their lives.

Guest speaker is Mike Johnson, who was filmed in an inspiring documentary as one who enriches the lives of a group of recovering addicts by encouraging them to join him on a mission of personal discovery and redemption – climbing to the 14,400-foot summit of Mount Rainier. Filmed in 2015, “A New High” played to sold-out audiences at the Seattle Film Festival in 2016.

Johnson was part of the original grassroots effort to start KentHOPE.
