Citizens who want to vote in the Nov. 7 general election have until Monday, Oct. 9 to register to vote or update voter registration information online or by mail.

King County Elections will mail general election ballots to all registered voters on Oct. 18, so it’s important that citizens register to vote and keep their address and other information, including their signature, updated.

Voters can check to make sure their registration information is current by going to Using My Voter Information online or calling the Voter Hotline at 206-296-VOTE (8683).

The easiest way to register to vote is online at My Vote.

Voters who miss the Oct. 9 deadline to update their registration should still contact the Elections office to update their information for future elections. King County residents not currently registered in Washington can register in person at the Elections office, 919 SW Grady Way, Renton, through Oct. 30.

To be eligible to register to vote, you must be:

A citizen of the United States

A legal resident of Washington state

At least 18 years old by election day (Nov. 7)
