“Turner exemplifies what we are looking for in a leader,” said head coach Matt O’Dette. “He understands our culture and will show the way for our young team. He along with Nolan and Donovan will provide positive leadership for our group moving forward.”

Ottenbreit is the 34th captain in team history. Scott Eansor and Mathew Barzal were the team captains during the 2016-17 season.

The WHL champion T-Birds begin the Western Hockey League regular season against the Tri-City Americans on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. at the accesso ShoWare Center.
