The Gracias Christmas Cantata brings a show-stopping musical experience to Kent on Wednesday, Oct. 4.<\/p>\n
The award-winning choir performs 7 to 9:15 p.m. at the ShoWare Center, 625 W. James St. It is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n
Presented in association with the International Youth Fellowship (IYF), the Gracias Choir offers cherished music, magical stages and passionate performances.<\/p>\n
The Kent stop is one part of the choir’s 25-city tour throughout the country. IYF USA, a Christian global youth initiative and a registered nonprofit organization, is dedicated to the spiritual, intellectual and emotional growth of young people around the world. IYF represents more than 200,000 students in 80 countries.<\/p>\n
The Gracias Choir – the IYF’s official choir – has performed for heads-of-state and presidents and in 40 nations throughout the world. Last year the Gracias Choir was awarded first prize at the International Chamber Choir Competition in Marktoberdorf, Germany.<\/p>\n
