The Kent School District canceled all Tuesday afternoon and evening outdoor athletic activities, including games and practices, because of a heat advisory and air quality alert.<\/p>\n
Parents are encouraged to check with their children’s schools for information about practices being moved inside facilities where space is available, according to a post on the district’s Facebook page<\/a>.<\/p>\n “The decision to cancel outdoor practices is not taken lightly and is intended to protect the health and welfare of our student-athletes in this very unusual situation,” the post reads. “Schools are adjusting activities during the school day as necessary.”<\/p>\n
