Residents can learn more about the four candidates vying to be Kent’s next mayor at a candidates forum from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday June 27, at the East Wing Auditorium at Kent-Meridian High School, 10020 SE 256th St.<\/p>\n
The city of Kent’s Cultural Communities Board, an advisory group to the mayor and City Council, is sponsoring the forum.<\/p>\n
Elizabeth Albertson, Jim Berrios, Dana Ralph and Andrew Swansen have confirmed their participation. Mayor Suzette Cooke opted not to run for reelection after three four-year terms.<\/p>\n
The moderated forum will be a question-and-answer style information session and focus on issues that impact immigrants and refugees, people of color, individuals with disabilities and the LGBTQ community.<\/p>\n
Questions for candidates will also be accepted in writing from audience members during the event.<\/p>\n
KentTV21 will videotape the event and broadcast the forum on Comcast Cable Channel 21 from July 5 through Aug. 1.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
