Seventh- and eighth-graders from the Kent and Tahoma school districts competed in track and field events at the conference championship meet June 6-7 at French Field.<\/p>\n
• Cedar Heights Middle School won the meet for the girls, and Northwood Middle took the title for the boys.<\/p>\n
• Tahoma Blue’s Adaji Osaro-igwe won the girls 100 meters (12.63 seconds) and 200 (26.39).<\/p>\n
• Faith Martinez, from Tahoma Gold, took first in the 800 (2:26.11) and 1,600 (5:23.17).<\/p>\n
• Mill Creek’s Makayla McIntosh was a double-winner in the 75- and 200-meter hurdles (12.25 and 31.68, respectively).<\/p>\n
• For the boys, Meridian’s Karandeep Dhillon won the 100 (11.82) and 200 (24.53).<\/p>\n
• Tahoma Blue’s Carson Howard took first in the 70- and 200-meter hurdles (10.85 and 27.05, respectively).<\/p>\n
