Ever since Washington state put a ban on the culminating project as a high school graduation requirement, only some school districts in the state, including Kent, kept it and insists that it helps students with life after school.

My question is, should the Kent School District take out the culminating project as a requirement and vote on having an alternative such as more involvement in the community?

Most students here don’t like the concept of the project and it doesn’t prepare any students for the future.

Personally, community service and making a resume were useful. Everything else wasn’t necessary to be a graduation requirement.

To graduate, students should pass state tests and pass their classes, not have extra requirements.
