{"id":28459,"date":"2017-05-21T17:10:00","date_gmt":"2017-05-22T00:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/fire-burns-small-duplex-on-kents-east-hill\/"},"modified":"2017-05-21T17:35:34","modified_gmt":"2017-05-22T00:35:34","slug":"fire-burns-small-duplex-on-kents-east-hill","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/fire-burns-small-duplex-on-kents-east-hill\/","title":{"rendered":"Fire burns small duplex on Kent&#8217;s East Hill"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A fire in a duplex broke out Sunday morning in the 400 block of East Kent and is still under investigation, the Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority said.<\/p>\n<p>The fire started around 10:33 a.m. in the west unit at a time when the residents were not home. Flames and smoke quickly grew in size but Puget Sound Fire Engine 71 had a quick response and, once on location, attacked the fire and held it to the unit that was on fire.<\/p>\n<p>Other units arriving extinguished the rest of the fire and a complete search found both homes to be empty.<\/p>\n<p>The tenant in the next door unit was able to safely get out with help.
