Kent Police arrested a man for investigation of assault after he reportedly threw fistfuls of rocks at an officer and waved knives high in the air before climbing out of a house window covered in shaving cream.

Officers surrounded the home in the 26200 block of 116th Avenue Southeast at about 6:37 p.m. on April 14, according to the police report. After taken into custody, the man told officers he had bi-polar disorder and had been smoking weed and using speed.

The incident started as a domestic dispute between a man and a woman. Officers responded and saw the man and woman – who were roommates – yelling at each other outside the home. Police eventually had the woman go inside a RV parked on the property.

The man picked up fistfuls of rocks and threatened to throw them at police. When he refused to put the rocks down, an officer pulled out a Taser and ordered the man to drop the rocks. But the man threw the rocks at the officer, missing him by about 12 inches. The man then went inside the home and closed the door.

A short while later, the man appeared in a laundry room window waving a kitchen knife in each hand. Officers called for additional units to surround the house.

After speaking with a police negotiator, the man climbed out of a window and officers arrested him.

The woman told police the man had just moved into the home, which she shares with her daughter and ex-husband, about a week previous. She said the man seemed mentally unstable and would show her his private parts. She wanted him to move out of the house.

Pair prowls vehicles

Officers arrested a man and a woman for investigation of possession of stolen property as well as warrants after they were spotted prowling vehicles at about 3:23 a.m. April 15 in the 12200 block of Southeast 276th Street.

A 911 call reported a man and a woman loitering in a neighborhood and possibly breaking into vehicles, according to the police report. They were driving a white car with a rear window covered in plastic.

Police located and stopped the vehicle. The car had numerous items inside, including clothing and pieces of mail that belonged to various people.

The man had a warrant out of Oklahoma for a probation violation. The woman had a Seattle warrant for possession of a stolen vehicle.

Man grabs ex-girlfriend’s hair

Police issued probable cause to investigate a man for fourth-degree assault after he allegedly grabbed the hair of his former girlfriend during a dispute at about 2:45 a.m. April 16 outside of a motel in the 25000 block of Pacific Highway South.

The woman told officers her former boyfriend had followed her and accused her of keeping the SIM card from his cellphone, according to the police report. The man reportedly grabbed her hair during the argument.

A hotel employee heard the dispute in the parking lot and yelled at the man to let the woman go. The man let go of the woman and fled on foot.

An officer reached the man by phone and the man told police the woman was making stuff up again.

Man caught with drugs

Officers arrested a man for investigation of possession of drug paraphernalia and a King County Sheriff’s Office warrant for failure to register as a sex offender after he was seen after hours inside a laundry business at about 10:08 p.m. April 14 in the 26000 block of Pacific Highway South.

Officers responded about an unwanted subject inside the business and saw a man and a woman inside the store, according to the police report. The man was drinking beer from a can inside a brown paper bag.

Police determined the man had a warrant out of King County. Officers searched the man and found a glass pipe and plastic baggies on him. The woman had a Thurston County warrant for disorderly conduct and third-degree theft. Officers advised the woman to appear in court on her charges and released her.
