Disregarding the taxpayer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As I read the Kent Reporter March 31 article, &ldquo;Sound Transit considers four sites for parking garage,&rdquo; I again marveled at what little concern is given to the local taxpayers.<\/p>\n<p>Do the residents of Kent have any say in their selection? Evidently not, as one of the sites being considered (site 4) appears, if selected, would remove (what?) 50 percent of the library&rsquo;s parking spaces, do away with the pavilion, duck pond, parking for some businesses on First, a park, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Parking at the library at the present offers a challenge, but eliminating all those on First Avenue near the library would exacerbate the parking situation what two-fold or more? Why does the city even tolerate Sound Transit&rsquo;s dictating the sites? Another land grab by Sound Transit? If site 4 is selected, why not give them the whole library location and move the library and police station to the par 3.
