{"id":27419,"date":"2017-03-27T13:42:00","date_gmt":"2017-03-27T20:42:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/sports\/kentridges-cronk-breaks-30-year-old-school-high-jump-record\/"},"modified":"2017-03-27T15:32:17","modified_gmt":"2017-03-27T22:32:17","slug":"kentridges-cronk-breaks-30-year-old-school-high-jump-record","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/sports\/kentridges-cronk-breaks-30-year-old-school-high-jump-record\/","title":{"rendered":"Kentridge&#8217;s Cronk breaks 30-year-old school high jump record"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kentridge High School junior Tyler Cronk set a school high jump record of 7 feet, 1 inch last Saturday at the Ray Cockrum Relays in Wenatchee.<\/p>\n<p>Snohomish High School&rsquo;s Taylor Devries took second in the event (6 feet, 4 inches).<\/p>\n<p>Jeff Hone held the previous Kentridge record of 6 feet, 9 inches since 1987.<\/p>\n<p>Cronk&rsquo;s previous best jump was 6 feet, 6 inches at Kentridge&rsquo;s dual meet against Kennedy Catholic on March 23.<\/p>\n<p>Last season, Cronk&rsquo;s best jump was 6 feet, 5 inches. He took second place in the South Puget Sound League 4A championship meet last season (6 feet, 4 inches) and finished eighth in the West Central District 4A meet (6 feet).<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Tyler has exceptional natural ability for the high jump,&rdquo; Kentridge boys track and field coach Al Waltner said in an email. &ldquo;He is obviously making incredible improvement.
