Drunken drivers struck and damaged a Kent Police car and a Kent Fire truck in separate incidents Sunday, according to Kent Police.

A DUI driver rear-ended a Kent Police patrol car around 2 a.m. Sunday, police said. The driver of the patrol car was not injured, and it was not immediately known if the suspect driver suffered any injuries. The accident reportedly occurred in the intersection of South 277 Street and Auburn Way North.

“Worse than waking up with a hangover … waking up in jail after rear-ending a cop,” Kent police posted on Twitter. “Make good choices this holiday weekend.”

Later, around 7 p.m., another drunken driver collided head-on with a Kent Fire Department truck on Kent’s East Hill at 116th Avenue Southeast and SE 248th Street. No injuries were reported. The suspect was arrested.

“Unsettling trend! PSA: hitting a @KentFireRFA truck while drunk will get you just as arrested,” Kent Police posted on Twitter.
