The Tacoma Stars wrap up the road portion of their regular season slate when they face off against the Ontario Fury on Thursday for a high-stakes Major Arena Soccer League Pacific Division matchup.

The Stars (10-7) and Fury (7-8) have squared off twice this season, with Tacoma coming away victorious both times on an aggregate score of 17-13. Dating back to the 2015-16 season, the Stars first full campaign in the MASL, Tacoma holds a 3-1 all-time series edge over Ontario.

Tacoma and Ontario sit in second and third place in the MASL Pacific Division, respectively, with the top two teams in the division advancing to the postseason. While the Stars cannot clinch a postseason berth with a win, it would increase their lead in the standings all the way out to 4½ games.

Forwards Alex Megson and Dan Antoniuk spearhead the Stars offensive side, tallying a total of 46 points on 23 goals and 23 assists. Midfielder Derek Johnson leads the club with 15 goals, and is one of four Tacoma players with a double-digit goals total.

Tacoma defender Cory Keitz leads the Stars back line with 31 blocks, the fourth best mark on the circuit. Goalkeeper Danny Waltman has logged 232 saves on 332 goals over 1,035 minutes in goal for a .699 save percentage; the defending MASL Goalkeeper of the Year ranks among the league’s top 10 goalies in goals against average, save percentage, and wins.

The Fury are led on offense by forward Nick Perera, who has accumulated 32 points on 16 goals and 16 assists. Seven total players have recorded 10 or more points for Ontario this season, including four with double-digit goal totals. Goalkeeper Joey Kapinos has allowed an average of 6.54 goals per match with 175 saves.
