The Kentridge girls returned the favor in their fourth meeting against Kentlake on Friday.<\/p>\n

The Chargers, behind freshman Jordyn Jenkins’ game-high 18 points, handled the Falcons 53-36 in the quarterfinals of the Class 4A West Central\/Southwest bidistrict tournament at Mount Tahoma High School.<\/p>\n

The win sends Kentridge (22-1) into the regional round of the state 4A playoffs. The Chargers play Bellarmine in a district semifinal at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Puyallup High School.<\/p>\n

Kentridge’s win on Friday evened the season series between the rivals at two games apiece. The teams took turns beating each other during the regular season to finish tied atop the North Puget Sound League Cascade Division standings, with Kentlake taking the tiebreaking playoff.<\/p>\n

On Friday, Kentridge’s 6-foot-4 standout JaQuaya Miller was held scoreless, but Tresai McCarver responded with 13 points and Taylor Jenkins had 11.<\/p>\n

Gabby Bruno paced Kentlake with 17 points.<\/p>\n

Kentlake (19-4) plays Tahoma at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday in a loser-out game at Stadium High School in Tacoma.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
