{"id":2584,"date":"2012-05-10T13:21:25","date_gmt":"2012-05-10T20:21:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spiken.wpengine.com\/news\/candidate-filing-week-begins-monday\/"},"modified":"2016-10-21T12:10:32","modified_gmt":"2016-10-21T19:10:32","slug":"candidate-filing-week-begins-monday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/candidate-filing-week-begins-monday\/","title":{"rendered":"Candidate filing week begins Monday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><p>Candidates planning to run for office in the Aug. 7 primary election or the Nov. 6 general election must file Monday through Friday, May 14-18.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>&#8220;If you are considering running for office, our website offers a candidate manual that provides comprehensive information about the process,&#8221; said Elections Director Sherril Huff. &#8220;Most candidates file online because it&#8217;s easy and efficient.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>During filing week, candidates have three ways to file for office:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\u2022\u00a0<a title=\"Online\" href=\"http:\/\/www.kingcounty.gov\/elections\/referenceresources\/candidatefiling.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Online<\/a> starting at 9 a.m. Monday, until 4 p.m., Friday. Candidates may file online 24 hours\/day.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\u2022\u00a0In-person from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily, Monday, through Friday. Candidates who choose to file in-person use designated computers at the King County Elections Department headquarters, 919 SW Grady Way, Renton.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\u2022\u00a0By mail until May 18.
