Candidates planning to run for office in the Aug. 7 primary election or the Nov. 6 general election must file Monday through Friday, May 14-18.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

“If you are considering running for office, our website offers a candidate manual that provides comprehensive information about the process,” said Elections Director Sherril Huff. “Most candidates file online because it’s easy and efficient.”<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

During filing week, candidates have three ways to file for office:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0Online<\/a> starting at 9 a.m. Monday, until 4 p.m., Friday. Candidates may file online 24 hours\/day.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0In-person from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily, Monday, through Friday. Candidates who choose to file in-person use designated computers at the King County Elections Department headquarters, 919 SW Grady Way, Renton.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0By mail until May 18. Filings made by mail must be received no later than 4:30 p.m. on May 18, regardless of postmark.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

An updated list of candidate filings will be posted on the Elections\u00a0website<\/a> at noon and by 6 p.m. each day until the filing week ends.<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
