The Kent Community Foundation has put out its annual call for scholarship applications, making the awards available to Kent-area students attending college in the fall.<\/p>\n
The foundation administers nine different scholarship funds. Most scholarship funds will award at least one scholarship per year, while others will award more than one.<\/p>\n
In 2016, the Kent Community Foundation awarded 18 scholarships totaling $29,250.<\/p>\n
The 2017 scholarships available are:<\/p>\n
• Bob Armstrong Scholarship<\/p>\n
• Kent Chamber of Commerce Scholarship<\/p>\n
• Covington Chamber of Commerce Scholarship<\/p>\n
• Friends of Kent-Meridian Scholarship<\/p>\n
• Johnson-Stoddard-Osness Family Scholarship<\/p>\n
• Linda Ruby Scholarship<\/p>\n
• Rob Osborne Scholarship<\/p>\n
• Richard and Ina Balash Scholarship<\/p>\n
• Thunderbird Community Sports Foundation Scholarship<\/p>\n
The due date for all scholarship applications is March 15, except for the Bob Armstrong Scholarship which has a due date of May 15. All applications are to be submitted electronically. A committee for each scholarship will review all applications and select the winners in April.<\/p>\n
Winners will be notified by the end of April and recognized at a scholarship award celebration in May, hosted by the foundation in partnership with other local organizations.
