Forecasters predict prolonged cold weather over the next week in Kent and the Puget Sound region that people need to prepare for.<\/p>\n
Beginning New Year’s Eve, there is a possibility of snow flurries on local hills as low as 300 feet. While the snow will not last, it may stick around into the first day of 2017, making travel more difficult.<\/p>\n
The biggest problem is for the rest of the week, when temperatures top out in the low 30s and can get into the teens at night. According to some weather <\/a>forecasters<\/a>, this cold spell may also lead to more snow the following week.<\/p>\n While how much snow we get is still unclear, the exceptionally cold weather is not.<\/p>\n The Kent Regional Fire Authority offers the following tips to combat cold temperatures:<\/p>\n • Insulate all exposed pipes in and around your home – especially outdoor water faucets.
