Kent Police cited a female inmate at the city jail for investigation of indecent exposure after she allegedly lifted her shirt and flashed her breasts at a male inmate.

Jail officials called the police after a male inmate notified them that he wanted to file charges against the woman, according to the police report.

The incident occurred June 18 at the city jail, 1230 S. Central Ave.

The man told police he stood inside his cell looking out his glass door toward the recreational yard when he saw the woman lift her shirt and expose her breasts to him.

He told officers that the act alarmed and offended him because, “he did not like it.”

When police talked to the woman, she admitted to the incident. She said she was trying to get accepted by the other “girls” in the jail. She said she refused to lift her shirt at first but did it because the other “girls” thought it would be funny.

The woman is serving a sentence for reckless endangerment. She is scheduled to be released in February.

Pursuit

Police arrested a woman for investigation of attempting to elude after she sped up to 100 mph along the Benson Highway with two patrols cars after her during a 6.8 mile chase.

The pursuit occurred at about 11:58 p.m. June 17 after an officer on routine patrol saw a Chevy Suburban southbound on 104th Avenue Southeast without brake lights as the vehicle stopped at an intersection, according to the police report.

The officer activated his emergency lights to pull the vehicle over when the driver turned into a parking lot in the 24900 block of 104th Avenue Southeast.

The driver then sped out of the parking lot and the pursuit began northbound on 104th Avenue Southeast, also known as the Benson Highway. The driver reportedly ran red lights at the intersections of Southeast 240th Street, Southeast 222nd Street, Southeast 208th Street and Southeast 176th Street.

The driver reached speeds of up to 100 mph in a 40 mph zone before taking a left turn onto Grady Way in Renton. An officer used a pursuit intervention technique (PIT) and eventually forced the Suburban up on a curb in the middle of the street along Grady Way.

Officers in two cars surrounded the vehicle and approached it with guns drawn and aimed at the driver. When an officer told the woman to put her hands up, she complied. Officers took her out of the vehicle and handcuffed her.

She told police she freaked out when she saw the police lights and heard the siren because she had warrants. A record check by officers showed the woman had warrants for a third-degree driving while license suspended out of Kirkland, a failure to appear for a third-degree theft charge out of Renton and making false statements in Bonney Lake. She also had three convictions for driving while license suspended.

The pursuit lasted about five minutes.

Obstructing

Officers arrested a man for investigation of obstructing after he reportedly ran from an officer during an incident at about 2:03 a.m. June 17 near a strip mall at South 260th Street and Pacific Highway South.

The officer saw the man walking out of a small parking lot near a restaurant in an area where people typically use the sidewalk, according to the police report.

The officer shined a flashlight near the man and saw what looked like a wet spot on the sidewalk where the man had possibly urinated. When the officer rolled down the window in his patrol car and said, “Hey, come here,” the man took off running.

When police caught up to the man and ordered him to the ground, he complied. He said he ran because he had been beat up in the past by police. He denied that he urinated on the sidewalk. He said he was looking for his friends.

The man carried identification from North Carolina.

Burglary

Police arrested a man for investigation of burglary and vehicle prowl after a witness saw him reportedly cutting a fence at about 3:04 a.m. June 18 at a commercial business in the 8400 block of South 228th Street.

The man left a bicycle near the business and fled on foot after a company employee asked him what he was doing on the property, according to the police report.

A K-9 unit helped track the man hiding in bushes not far from the business, where someone had broken into a truck and taken several items. The man denied cutting the fence or taking any items.

Kent Police cited a female inmate at the city jail for investigation of indecent exposure after she allegedly lifted her shirt and flashed her breasts at a male inmate.

[4
["post-2530","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news
