Ellen Marie Nyseth<\/p>\n
Ellen Marie (Johnson) Nyseth, 88, passed away July 23, 2009 at Wesley Homes Lea Hill, Auburn. She was born in Kent, August 21, 1920 to parents Ole and Jennie Johnson who had emigrated from Norway. She attended Kent schools and graduated from Kent High School in 1938.On July 5, 1941, she married Calmer Nyseth, her husband for 66 years who preceded her in death as did her brother Orville Johnson. She is survived by sisters Edith O\u2019Connell, Bea Moran Banasky, Ina (Doug) Staats and sister-in-law Beverly Johnson. Calmer and Ellen had three children: Judith (Barry) Broxson of Auburn, John Nyseth of Maple Valley, and Thomas (Carol) Nyseth of Renton and four grandchildren: Jeff (Renee\u2019) Broxson, Lisa (David) Dal Molin, Cara (Darrell) Johnson, and Clinton (Elizabeth) Myrick.Ellen was active in the early years of the White River Historical Society and the Greater Kent Historical Society. A life long member of the Odd Fellows of Kent and the Rebecca\u2019s, she was also a charter member of Vesterdalen Lodge-Sons of Norway, Auburn and was very proud of her Norwegian heritage.A Memorial service will be held Thursday, July 30 at 12:00 p.m. at Marlatt\u2019s Funeral Home, 713 Central Ave N. Kent. A reception will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Golden Steer Restaurant in Kent. Donations can be made to the Kent Lutheran Church, 336 2nd Ave. S.
