Elsie Marie Wise

Elsie Marie Wise passed peacefully of natural causes Sunday, July 13, 2008 at the Home Care facility in Kent, Washington. Elsie is survived by her daughter, Vicki Bennett, also of Kent, who took great care to see that she had the best care and comfort in her final years. She was cherished by all those she touched especially her four grandchildren and daughter-in-law, all still living locally. Elsie was preceded in death by two loving husbands, Dean Bennett and Donald Wise formerly of Kent and Seattle respectively, and her son Steve Bennett of Renton.Elsie was loved for her vibrant nature and lust for life. She was born into one of Kents’ original pioneer families and tells stories of her mother shooting bear! She received 9 athletic letters from her high school and went on to be-come matriarch to a loving family and to devote her life to service and volunteer work. Elsie unselfishly cared for all those around her, including numerous great-grandchildren, well into her later years. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her!The service will be held at the Greenwood Memorial Park in Renton, (www.greenwoodmempark.com) Monday, July 21, 2008. A viewing will be offered from 11:00 to 2:00 at the Park’s Funeral Home with the service being preformed at 2:00. A reception will follow at the home of Elsie’s daughter-in-law, also in Renton. The family asks that donations be made to Volunteers of the Seattle Veterans Hospital in lieu of sending flowers.
