King County Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating what they believe was a double suicide Tuesday evening at a home just south of the Kent city limits in the 27200 block of 33rd Avenue South.

The victims are a man and a woman in their late 70s, according to a Sheriff’s Office media release.

The Sheriff’s Office received a call at about 6 p.m. Tuesday from a man who said, “Send the cops, there is a double suicide.”

But before deputies arrived at the home in unincorporated King County, they believe the man killed himself.

Deputies also found the man’s wife dead inside the home.

It is not believed to be a murder-suicide, according to Sgt. John Urquhart, sheriff’s office spokesman.
