The Everett Silvertips defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds 3-2 in Western Hockey League play Saturday night at the Xfinity Arena in Everett.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Everett took a 1-0 lead on at 4:14 of the first period. Bryce Kindopp knocked in rebound for the opening goal. Sean Richard and Brett Kemp had the assists.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The Silvertips made it a 3-0 lead with two power-play goals by Riley Sutter 1:55 apart midway through the second period. Sutter scored at the 10-minute mark on a tic-tac-toe passing play. He then scored at 11:55 on a four-on-three power play from the low left circle.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The T-Birds cut the Silvertips lead to two goals at 14:09 of the first on the power play. Ottenbreit fed the puck to Sami Moilanen in the slot. Moilanen beat Everett goalie Carter Hart with a wrist shot over the glove for his second goal in as many games. Bryan Allbee had the second assist.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Everett outshot Seattle 11-6 in the first period.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The T-Birds cut the Silvertips lead to one goal with 1:34 left in the game with goalie Rylan Toth on the bench. Turner Ottenbreit took a slap shot from the slot that beat Hart on the blocker side. Ethan Bear and Elijah Brown worked the puck to Ottenbreit from a scramble in front of the Everett goal.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The T-Birds kept Toth on the bench and came close to tying the game in the last minute of the game but could not get the puck past Hart.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The T-Birds outshot the Tips 25-23 in the game.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Toth had 20 saves on 23 shots.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Hart made 23 saves on 25 shots.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
