{"id":22570,"date":"2016-10-06T10:30:07","date_gmt":"2016-10-06T17:30:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spiken.wpengine.com\/news\/young-at-heart\/"},"modified":"2016-11-07T13:15:22","modified_gmt":"2016-11-07T21:15:22","slug":"young-at-heart","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/young-at-heart\/","title":{"rendered":"Young at heart"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><p>Worldwide adventures have kept Yvonne Monroe young after all these years.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Even at the age of 100, she yearns to visit a distant land.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>&#8220;Maybe it&#8217;s travel that has kept me young,&#8221; Monroe said while enjoying family and friends during a party at the Harrison House in Kent last Friday, a day before her official birthday. &#8220;It&#8217;s been a great life. I certainly feel so (blessed).&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>The Kent woman, who grew up in Seattle, has been a Harrison House resident for 10 years.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Monroe, a seamstress most of her life, said she has traveled to every continent. She still likes to travel when she isn&#8217;t with family and friends, playing pinnacle, crocheting or making jewelry.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Twice married and widowed, Monroe raised three children.
