The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds 5-1 in a Western Hockey League game Saturday night at the ShoWare Center.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Kelowna goalie Michael Herringer made 36 saves on 37 shots to get the win.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The Rockets took a 1-0 lead on a goal from Kyle Topping at 5:18 of the second period. Nolan Foote and Kole Lind had assists.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Kelowna made it a 2-0 lead at 10:11 of the second on a goal from Lind. Jordan Borstmayer and Lucas Johansen were credited with the assists.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
In the third period Topping scored at 5:52 of the period followed by Jack Cowell at 9:19. Topping scored at 15:26 of the period to complete the hat trick.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Ian Briscoe scored his first career goal with 20 seconds left in the third period to spoil Herringer’s shutout. Elijah Brown had the only assist.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The T-Birds outshot the Rockets 12-5 in the third period and 37-30 in the game.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Seattle goalie Rylan Toth made 25 saves on 30 shots.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
On the road<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n The T-Birds hit the road for six games in the East Division starting at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, at the Swift Current Broncos. The play the Regina Pats, Saskatoon Blades, Prince Albert Raiders, Brandon Wheat Kings and Moose Jaw Warriors on the trip. Their next home game is 7:35 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, against the Calgary Hitmen.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
