{"id":22500,"date":"2016-10-13T16:48:04","date_gmt":"2016-10-13T23:48:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spiken.wpengine.com\/news\/redondo-boardwalk-reopens-in-des-moines\/"},"modified":"2016-11-07T12:35:22","modified_gmt":"2016-11-07T20:35:22","slug":"redondo-boardwalk-reopens-in-des-moines","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/redondo-boardwalk-reopens-in-des-moines\/","title":{"rendered":"Redondo Boardwalk reopens in Des Moines"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><p>The Redondo Boardwalk along the Puget Sound in Des Moines reopened this week after a $4.7 million project to repair it following damage during a November 2014 storm.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>The city of Des Moines closed the popular boardwalk because of the damage.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>With support from the Federal Highway Administration ($2.3 million grant), Washington State Department of Commerce ($1.4 million), state Transportation Improvement Board ($360,000) and the City Council ($497,000), the boardwalk has been restored.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>City officials thanked state Sens. Karen Keiser, D-Kent, and Mark Miloscia, R-Federal Way; state Reps.
