For the Reporter<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n The Tri-City Americans defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds 4-2 Saturday night in Kennewick at the Red Lion Hotels’ Preseason Tournament at the Toyota Center.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The T-Birds, 3-2-0-0 in preseason, conclude their preseason schedule with a home-and-home series against Everett. The T-Birds host the Silvertips at 7:35 p.m. Friday and travel to Everett for a 7:05 p.m. game this Saturday.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Tri-City took a 1-0 lead at 3:10 of the second period on a goal from Jusso Valimaki. Jordan Roy and Riley Sawchuk had the assists.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The T-Birds tied the game 1-1 at 9:07 of the second on a five-on-three power-play goal from Ethan Bear. Sami Moilanen and Donovan Neuls assisted on Bear’s second goal of the preseason.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The teams traded goals early in the third period. Morgan Geekie scored a power-play goal at 1:15 to give the Americans a 2-1 lead. Alexander True scored at 2:31 for the T-Birds to tie the game 2-2.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The Americans converted twice more on the power play to get their third and fourth goals. Parker Wotherspoon gave the Americans a 3-2 lead at 8:33 of the third. Geekie scored his second of the night, at 13:07, to make it a 4-2 Tri-City lead.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Seattle goalie Logan Flodell had 21 saves on 25 shots.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Tri-City goalie Nicholas Sanders made 18 saves on 20 shots.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
