The Kentridge High School girls swim and dive team edged out Tahoma High School by three points to win the 4A North Puget Sound League title last Saturday.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Sixteen teams competed in the meet at Hazen Pool in Renton in the first year of the resurrected league. Last year, Kentridge competed in the South Puget Sound League.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Kentridge took first in two out of the three relay events – the 200 medley and 200 freestyle. Tahoma dominated the 400 free relay, besting Kentridge by 6.5 seconds.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Top individual finishers for the Chargers included, freshman Grace Gallagher: second place in the 200 free, fourth place 100 butterfly; senior Michaela Childress: third place 200 free, fourth place 100 breast; junior Allison Nelson: sixth place 200 free; Haley Childress: second place 50 free, third place 100 back; junior Julia Seibel: fourth place 50 free, third place 100 free; Haley DePreist: second place 500 free; freshman Jaden Keatts: sixth place 500 free; junior Caitlin Couch, sixth place 100 breast.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Senior Margo Mead placed sixth in the diving competition, which was on Friday at the Auburn Pool.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Of the 33 girls on Kentridge’s team, 25 qualified for the NPSL meet.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Kentridge beat Tahoma earlier this season in a dual meet, helping the Chargers to secure the NPSL Cascade Division title.<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
