{"id":22326,"date":"2016-10-13T14:05:08","date_gmt":"2016-10-13T21:05:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spiken.wpengine.com\/news\/high-winds-could-strike-kent-thursday-night\/"},"modified":"2016-11-07T10:55:21","modified_gmt":"2016-11-07T18:55:21","slug":"high-winds-could-strike-kent-thursday-night","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/high-winds-could-strike-kent-thursday-night\/","title":{"rendered":"High winds could strike Kent Thursday night"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wrh.noaa.gov\/sew\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"link\">National Weather Service <\/a>has issued a high wind warning for Kent and the Seattle-Bellevue-Bremerton vicinity from 6 p.m. Thursday until 7 a.m. Friday.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Strong southerly winds will develop this evening and become southwesterly early Friday morning before easing.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Winds could hit 20 to 35 mph with gusts of 45 to 55 mph. The winds could cause tree damage and scattered power outages.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>A high wind warning means a hazardous or damaging high wind event is expected.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>There also is potential for a damaging storm to strike Saturday and Saturday night. Forecasters say the storm could peak in strength on Saturday night.
