{"id":22292,"date":"2016-10-28T13:59:47","date_gmt":"2016-10-28T20:59:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spiken.wpengine.com\/news\/pickup-truck-crashes-into-kent-home\/"},"modified":"2016-11-07T10:35:19","modified_gmt":"2016-11-07T18:35:19","slug":"pickup-truck-crashes-into-kent-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/pickup-truck-crashes-into-kent-home\/","title":{"rendered":"Pickup truck crashes into Kent home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><p>A driver of a small pickup truck drove across two lawns in Kent before smashing into the garage of a third house and coming to a stop in the driveway of a fourth home.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Firefighters from the Kent Regional Fire Authority were dispatched at about 11:15 a.m. on Friday to the <a title=\"map\" href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/26800+118th+Ct+SE,+Kent,+WA+98030\/@47.362552,-122.1863866,664m\/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x54905ed0e9873211:0x3b7f836c47093873!8m2!3d47.3616157!4d-122.18408\" target=\"_blank\">26800 block of 118th Court Southeast<\/a> after receiving a report that a vehicle had struck a house, according to a Kent RFA media release.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>When the units arrived, they saw a garage that had sustained significant damage to one corner of it where a roll-up door had been torn off and part of the foundation broken.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>In addition to striking the house, the truck also hit a cable TV box, damaged two front yards and sprayed gravel which dented two vehicles and garage doors.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Firefighters examined the man who drove the truck and sent him to a local hospital for an unspecified medical reason.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, according to Kent Police.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Two people who were in the house at the time of the incident were not injured.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Investigators have not yet determined why the truck crashed.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>A city of Kent building official has examined the house and is working with the home owners about access and safety.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\u00a0<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A driver of a small pickup truck drove across two lawns in Kent before smashing into the garage of a third house and coming to a stop in the driveway of a fourth home.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":212,"featured_media":22293,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[4],"tags":[],"yst_prominent_words":[],"class_list":["post-22292","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/22292"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/212"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=22292"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/22292\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/22293"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=22292"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=22292"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=22292"},{"taxonomy":"yst_prominent_words","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/yst_prominent_words?post=22292"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
