It may not be basketball season, but Kentwood High star Lindsey Moore remains at full throttle.<\/p>\n
On Thursday afternoon, USA Basketball announced that 27 of the nation’s top 19-and-under athletes have accepted invitations to attend the 2009 USA Basketball Women’s World Championship trials.<\/p>\n
Moore was was among those 27 who accepted invitations.<\/p>\n
This past season at Kentwood High, Moore led the Conquerors to their first-ever state championship. The 5-foot-10 senior guard, who will be playing next year at the University of Nebraska, averaged 15.7 points and 7.5 assists per game this past season.<\/p>\n
In addition, Moore was named a Parade All-American and also was tabbed the Gatorade State Player of the Year.<\/p>\n
Seven of the players who accepted invitations are returning from last year’s gold-medal winning USA U18 National team.<\/p>\n
Trials to select finalists for the 2009 U19 squad will be held May 14-17 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. Training camp will begin on July 8 in Colorado Springs, and the eventual 12-member roster will be announced prior to the team departing for Thailand.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
