The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds 5-2 Wednesday night at Prospera Place in Kelowna, British Columbia.<\/p>\n

The T-Birds return home to ShoWare Center for two games over the weekend. They play the Tri-City Americans at 7:35 p.m. on Friday and the Prince George Cougars on Sunday at 5:05 p.m.<\/p>\n

Tyson Barrie put the Rockets in front 1-0 at 3:37 of the first period. Tyson Barrie. Colin Long and Mitchell Callahan had the assists.<\/p>\n

Seattle (17-21-1-2) came back and tied the game at 7:45 of the first on an unassisted goal by Devon LeBlanc. Kelowna turned over the puck at their blue line at the right boards. LeBlanc got to the puck and came in on a two-on-one. LeBlanc beat Kelowna goalie Adam Brown with a quick snap shot over the glove.<\/p>\n

Kelowna (24-16-0-0) went in front 2-1 at 10:17 of the first on a goal by Cody Almond. Stepan Novotny and Lucas Bloodoff had assists on the goal.<\/p>\n

The T-Birds tied the game a second time at 18:40 of the first. Greg Scott stole the puck from a Kelowna defenseman at the Rockets blue line. Scott got to the puck in the left circle and then centered the puck to Jonathan Parker coming down the slot. Parker faked left, brought the puck back right and put it over a sprawling Brown for his eighth goal of the year.<\/p>\n

The Rockets outshot the T-Birds 12-6 in the first period.<\/p>\n

Lucas Bloodoff scored at 10:38 at of the second period to give the Rockets a 3-2 lead. Barrie and Almond had assists on the goal.<\/p>\n

Kelowna outshot Seattle 9-8 in the second period and led 21-14 in total shots after two periods.<\/p>\n

Novotny added a goal at 3:38 of the third period to put the Rockets in front 4-2. Lucas Bloodoff and Almond had assists on the goal.<\/p>\n

Kelowna went ahead 5-2 when Colin Bowman scored at 17:09 of the third. Evan Bloodoff and Long assisted on the fifth Rockets goal.<\/p>\n

The Rockets outshot the T-Birds 8-5 in the third period and 29-19 in the game.<\/p>\n

Seattle goalie Jacob DeSerres stopped 24 of 29 shots and his record is now 7-12-0-0.<\/p>\n

Brown made 17 saves on 19 shots and his record is now 12-3-0-0.<\/p>\n
