{"id":21951,"date":"2011-09-01T10:50:08","date_gmt":"2011-09-01T17:50:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spiken.wpengine.com\/news\/kent-students-back-in-school-slide-show\/"},"modified":"2011-09-01T10:50:08","modified_gmt":"2011-09-01T17:50:08","slug":"kent-students-back-in-school-slide-show","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/kent-students-back-in-school-slide-show\/","title":{"rendered":"Kent students back in school | Slide show"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><p>Forty Kent schools opened the 2011-12 year Thursday with more than 27,000 students in the classrooms.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Students strolled into Kent Elementary School along West Meeker Street (see slide show) as well as 27 other elementary schools.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>The Kent School District also has four high schools, six middle schools and two academies.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Students will attend school for two days and then get Monday off for Labor Day.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>The school year includes winter vacation from Dec. 21-Jan. 3 and spring vacation from April 9-13.
