Kent Police arrested a 28-year-old SeaTac man Dec. 16 for investigation of commercial sex trafficking of minors, rape and assault.

The Kent Police Special Investigations Unit and Valley SWAT served a search warrant on a home Dec. 16 in the 17300 block of 33rd Avenue South in SeaTac, according to a Kent Police media release. Detectives have worked on the case over the last three months.

The investigation started with a street contact made by Kent patrol officers during the late summer months. Detectives learned that the man allegedly would befriend young girls he met in the area, developing a personal and romantic relationship with them, before compelling them to engage in acts of prostitution for his profit.

The man reportedly would maintain control of the girls using violence and the threat of violence. Detectives tracked his activities throughout the Pacific Northwest. He has a history of felony convictions for promoting prostitution and drug crimes, according to police.

“These young victims had no sense of what they were getting into when they were befriended by this suspect,” Kent Police Lt. Pat Lowery said.

The man is in custody at the Kent city jail.
